Net Zero ultimately has to happen

We can slow climate change by cutting emissions dramatically. A slower rate of change is great, but still only delays the impacts of climate change. Until we are no longer increasing the amount of CO₂ in the atmosphere, the planet will continue to warm. We therefore ultimately have to achieve Net Zero (where any CO₂ emissions are balanced by removal of CO₂from the atmosphere).
